Our University Investigating Zambia, SA within Delegation
February 18-27, 2013, a delegation led by Yan Chunlai, inspector from Education Department of Hebei Province, with 4 members of Chen Liang, CPC standing committee of Hebei University of Economics and Business, Hou Jianguo, director of International Exchange and Cooperation of Hebei Education Department, Shang Liwei, director of International Exchange Center of Hebei University of Economics and Business, went to Zambia for a 10-day visiting and inspected the Confucius Institute of our university at University of Zambia.
During the visiting, the delegation paid an official call Partrick, routine secretary of Education Ministry of Zambia, Mr. Zhou Yuxiao, Chinese Ambassador at Zambia and Mr. Chai Zhijing the Chinese Commercial Counselor at Zambia. They visited University of Zambia, Libes College of Zambia, Tshwane Technology University of South Africa, Peninsula Technology University of South Africa and Cape Town University of South Africa. Some views as the development of Confucius Institute, start on the building of Confucius Institute financially assisted by Commerce Ministry of China were exchanged by the delegation and related departments of Zambia.
Since the two years of the establishment of Confucius Institute, with the supervisal by National Hanban and Hebei Education Department, support by the counterparts, Confucius Institute at University of Zambia has been making a great progress. The teaching points have been set up at Capital Lusaka, Copper Belt Province, Western Province and Mulungushi, providing 2500 person-time to the local companies that invested by China. Chinese language has been a credit curriculum in Libes College and highly approved by the local people.
This visiting propelled the repairment for the existed buildings in Confucius Institute at University of Zambia and the process of the Confucius Institute building financially assisted by Commerce Ministry of China, and accelerated the process of Chinese language accepted by the degree curriculum system and middle school in Zambia.
The delegation successfully made a visiting incidentally to South Africa, exchanging the views about student-exchanging in short& medium term and cultivation of international students.
