On the morning of May 24, 2013, Yi He, the director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia, led the state television of Zambia (ZNBC) to Luanshya Trust School where is one of the Confucius Institute teaching locations. The television crew successfully took the Chinese teaching and activities. And next day they shot the whole process of the YCT test. Students actively participated in the activities and had a good concept of cooperation. This interview manifested the great friendship between China and Zambia, and related activities won consentaneous recognition and praise of both sides.
The interview launched in Luanshya Trust School on the morning, Penghong Jiang and Jinxiao Zhang, the Chinese volunteer teachers of the Confucious Institute at the University of Zambia, organized students performed Tai Chi, Chinese calligraphy, and read the Chinese poem “Love Life” in fluent Chinese which is written by the famous contemporary poet Guozhen Wang. The students also sang the song “Long Live China and Zambia Friendship” emotionally. The scene attracted rave reviews because of its excellent performance and lively atmosphere. After that, the television crew shot the two Chinese volunteers’ Mandarin classes. Their lively teaching technique, wonderful teaching activities and rich teaching contents, deeply attracted students. “The Chinese class lively and interesting , we like to study very much.”after class, students told the reporter.
The filming activities was created on the initiative of Yi He, and also received a vigorously support come from CNMC Luanshya Copper Mines
PLC.. They sponsored students performing costumes, brush and other props. In addition, the Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia and CNMC Luanshya Copper Mines
PLC. made a shooting plan and the shooting programs together before the activity, and improved repeatedly it. Because of everything prepared in advance, the activity carried out smoothly and achieve complete success.
“Students love Chinese and love Chinese culture, so I hope we can organise more activities like this to provide wider exchange opportunities, more active interactions, and build jointly the bridge of friendship of both sides.” Mr Situmbeko, the deputy principal of Luanshya Trust School, told reporters.
