CIKU Opened Class for Bank Executives
Recently, Confucius Institute at Katmandu University started teaching for bank executives in the CBD of Thamel. This is the third new class after Spring Festival, and the breakthrough on the levels of institute students served as a solid proof that the craze for Mandarin in Nepal has been raised again.
With the increasing of the impact caused by CIKU on Nepal, the number of people who are learning Chinese is growing with each passing day. On February 21st, the registered students reached the 31 just during the first day of class opening.
CIKU is located nearby Patan, far away from the center of Katmandu. While since four years of the establishment of CIKU, students are still the residents nearby. In order to enhance the impact of Chinese in Nepal, as well as the levels of students, the Chinese classroom was opened in the CBD of Thamel by the efforts of leaders and faculties of CIKU on December last year. After Spring Festival, the continuing consultation from local officials, bank executives and directors of Federation of Industry and Commerce of Nepal who knew the news about Chinese class showed the enthusiasm for learning Chinese and the eager for appreciating Chinese culture. The particular class for bank executives was opened so as to satisfy the demand of local people. All of the students in this class is in the employ of local banks and took the executive position.
The establishment of Chinese class for bank executives demonstrated the interesting for Chinese and Chinese culture in the group of Nepalese officials, the great impact of Chinese on Nepalese society, and served as a symbol that the craze for Chinese has been heating up continually.
