From September 14th to 16 th, the supervision group led by Wang Yongli, deputy director of Hanban / Confucius Institute Headquarters, visited Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia and made inspection and supervision on work.
In the 14th evening, Wang Yongli, deputy director of Hanban / Confucius Institute Headquarters, Hu ZiYuan deputy-dean, LiZhuo Assistant deputy-dean and Teacher Zheng Menglin arrived in Kenneth Kaunda International Airport of Lusaka, Zambia, Zhao Haihan, the director of the Political section of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia, Prof. Heyi, the Chinese director of Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia, Prof. V.M.Chanda, the host director of Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia and teachers and students of the Confucius Institute went to the airport to greet the group. In the evening, the Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Mr. Zhou Yuxiao at the Embassy held a welcome banquet to Deputy Director Wang Yongli and other members of inspection group. Ambassador Zhou Confucius Institute congratulated the great achievements made by Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia and the rapid global development for Confucius Institute, expressed his appreciation on the best efforts of Confucius Institute for spreading Chinese language and culture and promoting the understanding and exchange of people of two countries in such a short time of two years. In the morning of 15th, Wang Yongli, deputy director of Hanban / Confucius Institute Headquarters came to the University of Zambia with other people to meet with Dr.Wilson N.M.Mwenya, Deputy Vice Chancellor. Mr.Wilson N.M.Mwenya welcomed the arrival of inspection group of Hanban very much. The two parties talked about Chinese credit courses opening, Confucius Institute building construction, local Chinese teacher training, section of core teachers, and so on. They made wide-ranging exchange of views and ideas, and reached a consensus. Then Wang Yongli, deputy director of Hanban / Confucius Institute Headquarters visited Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia, observed the establishment exhibition, talked with the teacher and students who are having class warmly. Wang Yongli, deputy director of Hanban / Confucius Institute Headquarters asked something about their learning and living conditions, encouraged the students to learn Chinese well and to become messenger between China and Zambia in order to contribute to promote construction and development of the two countries.
